Thoughts from my Kitchen

There is something unique about sharing a part of yourself on the internet.

Since 2011, I’ve shared with you bits and pieces (sometimes more, sometimes less) about the goings-on in my kitchen, but I’ve always just tried to share the most “picture perfect” moments.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many blog My Tiny Kitchen | Foodinaryposts I’ve worked on but never posted because I thought the recipe wasn’t good enough or because the lighting in the picture wasn’t quite right.

As this blog is a window into my life that the whole world can see, I only wanted to show you the best parts. It’s the same concept as when you have company coming over to your house for a visit.  You always want to make sure everything is in perfect order – you want to make sure that the baseboards are dusted, that the pillows are fluffed, and that fresh flowers are on the table.  But in reality, that’s not how most of us live on a day-to-day basis (unless you’re Martha Stewart).

I want to try and embark on a new journey – to share more of my day-to-day life with food, which is sometimes fresh baked bread and other days is leftover rice and beans cooked in my minuscule kitchen.  I want to show you how I really do try to pack fun and healthy lunches for work, even though sometimes those lunches may just end up being the third round of left-over soup.

However, I think it’s incredibly important that I learn to show through my little space on the internet that my life is not always perfect, that my chocolate chip cookies may be a little burnt on the bottom, but that ultimately, I try to give each recipe and each day my best effort.

Thanks to all my readers who continue to show excitement and support even though my postings can be few and far between. I look forward to sharing a bit more of myself and my kitchen with all of you!
